Rob Milnes
CEO & Co-Founder Rob Milnes is a seasoned medtech entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in financing, manufacturing, and launching MedTech and digital health technologies, alongside executing successful exits. He has a passion for creating clinically proven products in regulated medical devices, He has developed global business involved with cardiology, gynecology, obstetrics, neurology, sleep, dental and fertility products. As the CEO of viO HealthTech, Rob has focused on bringing a groundbreaking women's health wearable to market. He is a co-inventor on 6 wearable patents and has co-authored several clinical publications. Before joining the startup world over 15 years ago, Rob's corporate career included roles at prominent companies such as Roche and Oxford Instruments, as well as serving on the Operations Board of Huntleigh Healthcare. Rob has a degree in Business and Diploma in Marketing.

Carlos Sanchez
Chair & Co-Founder Carlos Sanchez is a distinguished entrepreneur and Deeptech practitioner with over two decades of eclectic experience in the deeptech and in the financial technology sector. Carlos' engineering background has been instrumental in his career, enabling him to lead complex technological projects and develop cutting-edge financial solutions. His tenure at ipagoo, where he developed a multi-country digital banking platform, exemplifies his ability to merge engineering expertise with entrepreneurial spirit. Currently, Carlos is advisor to various VC funds and startups. He holds an MBA from IMD Business School and an Engineering degree from Universidad de Vigo.

Knut A. Karlsen
Board Member Knut is an engineer from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and holds an MBA from IMD in Switzerland. He was recently the CEO of Umoe Bioenergy, a producer of biofuel and electricity from sugar cane in São Paulo in Brazil. Prior to joining Umoe Bioenergy, Knut was the President of Yara Brasil, the Brazilian subsidiary of Yara International. Knut joined Yara from PwC, where he was a Partner in the firm’s consulting group.

MD Tom Williamson
Senior Medical Advisor Professor Tom Williamson is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon at St Thomas' Hospital in London, with a distinguished career spanning over four decades. His expertise in retinal diseases and innovative surgical techniques has established him as one of the world's leading specialists in his field. As a passionate advocate for innovation in ophthalmology, Prof Williamson has been at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge technologies into clinical practice. He has shown particular interest in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve diagnosis and treatment outcomes in ophthalmology. His involvement in pioneering AI technologies from the 1990 onwards demonstrates his commitment to advancing the field and enhancing patient care. Prof Williamson's academic contributions are equally impressive. He holds the position of Visiting Professor in Biological Sciences and Engineering at the University of Surrey and serves as a Reader at King's College London. With over 250 publications to his name, including books, book chapters, and papers in prestigious scientific journals, he has significantly contributed to the body of knowledge in ophthalmology. His dedication to education and mentorship is evident in his extensive involvement in training future generations of ophthalmic surgeons. Prof Williamson has trained approximately 40 vitreoretinal fellows as part of a highly sought-after international fellowship programme at St Thomas' Hospital. Prof Williamson's innovative spirit extends beyond his clinical work. He has been involved in developing new technologies, including AI applications, to enhance diagnostic capabilities and improve patient outcomes in ophthalmology. This pioneering work positions him at the cutting edge of ophthalmic research and practice, contributing to the ongoing evolution of the field.
